Biography:

Masuisui Dr. Seeseei Molimau-Samasoni leads the Plant & Postharvest Technologies Division with laboratory research experience from the University of Newcastle Australia (where she completed her Bachelor in Biotechnology with First Class Honours and was awarded a Faculty Medal), and the Victoria University of Wellington (where she completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Cell and Molecular Bioscience, looking at Samoan medicinal plants). 
 
Masuisui Dr. Seeseei Molimau-Samasoni holds the belief that the full potential of agricultural and natural products is yet to be realized in Samoa, and well-thought out and well-implemented research activities will allow for this to happen.

Biography:

 Angelika Tugaga is currently a Principal Research Scientist under the Plant and Postharvest Technology Division. She is a graduate of the University of the South Pacific, Alafua Campus, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture in 2005, following her 2 years of service in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries from 2006 to 2007. She decided to take her education to the next level where she applied through a scholarship scheme and got a chance to study in China. She studied at Zhejiang University from 2008 to 2011 and pursued her Master’s Degree in Plant Pathology. Her service in MAF continued for 6 years before moving to SROS in 2017. In addition, she has over 7 years of experience in agriculture and horticultural research as well as extensive technical and scientific background in various postharvest pathology studies.

Biography:

My interest is in the field of Agricultural Research Activities. . I was working as a Tissue Culture Laboratory Technicians at USP and then Join IRETA-USP as a Research Officer from 2003-2005.. From 2006-2011 I was in Malaysia with IJM Plantations Bhd, Oil Palm Company, based at their Research Station “Quality Training and Research Centre” (QTRC) mainly at the Seed Production Unit.
 
Also have experience on Plant Protection Unit; Tropical Weed Science, Fruit Fly, Plant Pathology and Entomology.

Biography:

Amy Maslen-Miller is a senior research scientist within the Plant and Postharvest Technologies division. From her experience in plant pathology and biological science, from The University of Auckland (where she completed her masters on the characterization and pathogeneicity of Phytophthora colocasiae on taro) she has contributed to the postharvest work.

Amy is very grateful to be given the opportunity to work in Samoa and have projects that benefit the Samoan people.

Biography:

Given a chance to work for SROS has been a dream come true. Biography:

Veronica Vaaiva graduated in 2015 from the University of the South Pacific (USP) majoring in Applied Science (both Animal and Crop Science). Veronica is has been an Assistant Research Scientist of Plant and for more than two years.

Veronica Vaaiva’s passion is alleviating agricultural produce for better quality. Researching more on postharvest know-how to be developed and for Samoa to be able to export more agricultural produce for overseas marketing. Veronica believed that with more postharvest research pertaining to better quality of agricultural product will aid in boosting Samoa’s agricultural produce consequently increasing more produce for overseas market.
